This is a piece of Australian Red Morrel Burl that I turned several months ago.  It was sitting in a store for the past several months down in Naples, having been taken before I had photographed it. 

This is a round box made of the last of my Spalted American Elm- the same species devastated by the Dutch Elms disease.  The red wood is Bloodwood.
