This is a piece of green Cypress that I had imported from Alabama. The grains expand differently, creating an interesting texture that feels smooth without being perfectly flat. There's also a little spalting in the wood that adds a bit of color here an there.


This is giant piece of Mahogany that I found under some sawdust on the lower shelf under my lathe. Until I turned it, it was being used as added weight to keep my lathe on the floor.
