This cheese and cracker platter is made from my last large piece of the Spalted American Elm that I acquired a few years ago.  The green marble is for cutting the cheese.

This is a Curly Purple Heart cheese and cracker platter with a piece of white marble.  This is fresh off the lathe with only a couple of coats of finish.  The marble's not glued on yet, so the wood hasn't had enough ultraviolet light to show its true color.  In a week or two, this piece will purple-up in a big way.
