The next two shots of the first Potpourri dish I made of Spalted maple.


The two photos below are of a matching set. On the left is an oil lamp made of the same piece of Spalted Maple as the Potpourri dish on the right. I purposely kept the bark on the top. This spalted maple was locally cut.


The three photos below are of a larger potpourri dish. This was sold.



Another potpourri dish.


And still another. These were all made from the same hunk which was the bottom of a stump that had rotted a bit before being harvested. The rotting gives the wood its interesting characteristic of course. I still have enough of this stump for a couple more as well as a nice lamp that I plan to turn.
